The Green Bay Packers had quite the quarterback conundrum on their hands once Aaron Rodgers went down with a broken collarbone. Despite his fluctuating performance, backup Brett Hundley had his moments during a brief stint as the starter.
However, it seems the Packers could be in search of more stability behind Rodgers moving forward. According to ESPN's Rob Demovsky, Green Bay may be looking to replace Hundley as the backup this offseason:
Releasing Hundley would certainly make sense if they were to find a suitable replacement. The former fifth-rounder went 3-6 as the starter before Rodgers made his early return for a potential playoff push. Hundley finished the season with 1,836 yards, nine touchdowns, and 12 interceptions through the air. He also flashed some running ability with 270 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, however, his tenure as the starter was largely mediocre.
That said, there is a good chance that Green Bay decides to go in a different direction with all that is at stake in the near future. Not only do the Packers hope to find a capable backup, but they may need to start grooming another prospect to learn under Rodgers while he is still in his prime.
