Deshaun Watson is among the next Houston Texans players in line to sign an extension with the franchise and he doesn't seem concerned about when it will happen. While speaking to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, Watson sounded optimistic about an extension.

Earlier this offseason, the Texans made Laremy Tunsil the highest-paid offensive tackle in the NFL. That shouldn't come as a surprise, given that Houston surrendered two first-round picks to acquire Tunsil from the Miami Dolphins.

On the other hand, the Texans questionably traded DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals early in free agency. Being that Hopkins was Watson's No. 1 target, some believe that the dynamic quarterback could force his way out of Houston.

However, Watson seems to be focused on continuing his career with the Texans beyond 2021. In an unsurprising decision, Houston exercised Watson's fifth-year option this offseason, keeping him with the team through 2021.

Since being drafted by the Texans in 2017, Watson has been nothing short of spectacular under center. Altogether, the Clemson product has combined for 9,716 passing yards, 71 passing touchdowns and 29 interceptions. In addition, Watson has contributed another 1,233 yards and 14 touchdowns with his legs.

Above all, Watson has been able to help the Texans turn into a playoff team in recent seasons. The former No. 12 pick has led Houston to back-to-back playoff berths in the past two seasons.

Besides Patrick Mahomes, Watson figures to be the most anticipated extension in the NFL. Despite the moves Houston has made this offseason, Watson is confident he'll get an extension done with the Texans.
