One of the notable acquisitions that the Indianapolis Colts made this offseason was the free agent signing of veteran tight end Eric Ebron on a two-year, $13 million.
Since his arrival, he has quickly hit things off with his new coaches with most of that coming in the way of building a strong bond with head coach Frank Reich out of the gate. According to Andrew Walker of Colts.com, Ebron stated that he had and Reich have “clicked” from the get-go together that pushed him to prove to him that he was the right choice.

And I don’t want to fail him, I don’t want to ever let him believe that I am the person that (some) people make me out to be. So I just went out there and tried to destroy anything in my path for him.”
Ebron has an opportunity in front of him to grab ahold of a major role in the passing game in his first campaign with the Colts as one of the primary targets for Pro Bowl quarterback Andrew Luck. Reich has already spoken quite highly of 25-year-old classifying him as an “elite” tight end that could set the table for him to earn a steady spot in the offense.
Although he has yet to experience a breakthrough year, Ebron has shown that he can be quite a reliable target in the passing game that could be a huge asset in the red zone. He will have his fair share of competition for playing time with Jack Doyle, but he has a fair chance to prove he can provide a different element to the offense that has been lacking in Indianapolis.
All of this sets the table for Ebron to showcase that he can perform up to those lofty expectations that he and Reich have set forth ahead of him in the 2018 season.
