Jacksonville Jaguars coach head coach Doug Marrone defended his decision to go for two in the final seconds against the New York Jets on Sunday saying that it had to do with injuries and what his conversion chart told him to do, and he wasn't trying to send a message.

T.J. Yeldon scored a touchdown with 25 seconds left to go in the game to go up 19 points. Instead of kicking a field goal to go up 20 points, they decided to go for two to get the lead up to 21 points, although a comeback was all but impossible.

“We had a lot of guys banged up for the PAT/field goal [team], and on the chart it just said 19 [points],” Marrone said via ESPN. “On the chart it says go for two. I'm one of those guys, I never try to take anything for granted in an NFL game. Try to keep working those mechanics and doing it, so just went for two.

Marone also said the team isn't good enough to send a message at this point. Not even agrees though including Jaguars defensive tackle Malik Jackson who thinks Marrone has some hard feelings towards the Jets, although he really isn't sure why.

“He doesn't like those guys,” Jackson said. “I don't know what they did to him, but he doesn't like them.”

Blake Bortles was asked about the decision and said that he doesn't know why the decision was made but joked that he just works for the Jaguars and isn't the one who makes the decision.
