The Jacksonville Jaguars and cornerback Jalen Ramsey have made for some interesting storylines this year. While the team is struggling, Ramsey is still at the top of his game.
It's also widely known that the cornerback wants a new contract, and also doesn't really want to be in Jacksonville anymore. There are the facts that he isn't happy with how he's being used, or the team's performance. Of course, the contract isn't helping either.
This has led to a lot of drama. That drama has been basically nonstop since before the season even started.
It continued in Week 3. The Jaguars were playing the Tennessee Titans in a Thursday Night Football game.
They picked up their first win of the season in that game, and moved to 1-2. However, Ramsey was “sick” and didn't report to practice on Monday. Then on Wednesday, he was absent due to a back injury.
There are also talks of a hamstring injury and so many other things it's pretty comical.
Now the Jaguars are backing up the back injury though. According to Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk.com, the team is reporting that Ramsey reported a back injury during their Week 3 game.
Of course, this has led to speculation that they're trying to cover their tracks. They don't want Ramsey to get complete control of the situation.
However, the more likely answer here is that Ramsey did bring up a back issue. Tightness in that back is something players tend to experience and it wouldn't be surprising at all if he brought it up to get rolled out.
For now though, all we know is this craziness is far from over. Every little thing done by the Jaguars and Ramsey will be put under a microscope.
This is only the beginning.
