Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey made headlines this offseason with his blunt comments on the state of quarterbacks in the NFL. Now he has sounded off on where he stands in the league's pecking order.

It is no secret that Ramsey is oozing with confidence. In an interview with ESPN's Mina Kimes, he said he expects to surpass Hall of Famer Deion Sanders as the best cornerback in NFL history by the end of his career:

Unsurprisingly, he expects to retire as the best cornerback to ever play the game — better than Sanders, he says, even if some fans refuse to acknowledge it. “But people who know the game of football — truly know the game of football — they'll look back and be like: This dude,” he says.

Needless to say, Ramsey has made some bold statements in his young career. However, this might be the biggest one by far. There is no question that Sanders is widely considered the greatest cornerback of all time. That kind of legacy can be difficult to surpass, if not impossible. Fortunately, he is off to a great start.

The former fifth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft has quickly become one of the NFL's premier shutdown cornerbacks. He finished the 2017 campaign with 63 tackles, 17 pass deflections, and four interceptions en route to first-team All-Pro honors. On top of being the best corner in the league, he is also considered the best trash talker. That said, he has managed to successfully emulate the type of player Sanders was thus far.

This will be a deciding year for Ramsey now that he has made a name for himself. All the quarterbacks he has criticized will be looking to exploit him this time around. If he can maintain this high level of play, there is no question that he is poised for a Hall of Fame career.
