While most of the people were stuck in their homes amidst the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette had other ideas. According to Andrew Siciliano, the former LSU Tiger claimed that he went on a “world tour” to avoid the virus.

“Wherever the corona was at, I ran away from it,” Fournette explained.

His odd plan seemed to have worked for him as he still arrived in training camp without contracting the virus thus far.

On the field, the incoming fourth-year player had a breakout season last year. Fournette had 1,152 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns to go along with 76 receptions for 522 receiving yards. He also played hsi most games in a single season with 15 appearances for the Jaguars last season. His numbers jumped as well, a far cry from his previous 2018 campaign which was marred by an injured hamstring.

Despite his applaudable performance last season, Fournette and the Jaguars failed to mutually agree on a contract extension during the offseason. On May 1, 2020, the Jaguars declined the fifth-year option on Fournette's contract, making him a free agent in 2021.

Potentially losing Fournette will certainly leave a hole on the Jaguars' offensive rotation. He is very much a dangerous threat and is also capable of leaving behind opposing defenses.

Leonard Fournette will be looking to make the most of what seems to be his last season in Jacksonville. The Jaguars' buildup for a better 2020 campaign continues as Week 1 action is just a month away. Their first challenge will be slated on September 13 as they host the new-look Indianapolis Colts at TIAA Bank Field.
