Jon Gruden coaching rumors are arguably the worst. As written here before, I continue to question why NFL and college teams would want a coach who has been out of the active coaching ranks for so long so badly.

I am the exception to the rule, apparently. People can't get enough of this stuff. Oddly enough, as opposed to being historically anti-return talk, Jon Gruden has become far more cryptic recently when asked about a potential return to coaching football at any level.

Here is the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coaching seeming like he's going to say some cliched stuff on Mike and Mike, then dropping a little cryptic line at the end.

“I haven’t talked to anybody,” Gruden said. “All I really have in my life is my family and football. That’s about it. I’m real sensitive to the coaches that are out there coaching, so I don’t speculate. I just love football. I’m trying to hang onto the job I have. I’m very fortunate to be with the people I’m with. I don’t know what’s gonna happen in the future. I just know this: I’m gonna continue to give my best effort to the game, stay prepared, and I love Monday Night Football and don’t plan on leaving but, as you know in life, you never say never to nothing.”

As crazy, a longtime reporter in Tampa Bay, Ira Kaufman, who is also wildly respected and credible, is of the belief he could return to the Buccaneers.

“I think Koetter’s got seven weeks to prove that this team is still buying what he’s selling,” Kaufman said to PFT. “The stands are half empty, and there’s a guy out there that has a lot of juice and can fill those stands. . . . I’m starting to believe it for the first time, that Gruden’s coming back.”

Don't forget about all the Tennessee Volunteers football fanatics who believe Gruden will join their favorite program.

What do you guys think are the realistic odds he takes a coaching job this offseason?
