The Oakland Raiders are steadily moving through the offseason, reshaping their roster on the defensive side of the ball by adding proven talent to the mix. The team's latest addition on Friday came with the signing of former Kansas City Chiefs Pro Bowl linebacker Derrick Johnson shortly following his visit with the team.
The front office has now quickly shifted their attention over to possibly bringing aboard another former Pro Bowl linebacker, as the Raiders are expected to hold a visit with Brian Cushing over the weekend, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Since the Texans decided to part ways with Cushing back in February, he has received some interest from the Seattle Seahawks, likely due to his connection to head coach Pete Carroll that dates back to their time together at USC. However, that hasn't lead to him finding a new home in the NFL up to this point in time.
The Raiders could quickly find themselves in the fold as a realistic landing spot for Cushing given that the team has a need to solidify their front seven. His addition could be a big step in the right direction to bring aboard a player who has proven to be a highly dependable and productive player throughout his career. He has put together a productive career with the Texans as the all-time franchise leader with 665 total tackles along with 14.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles, and eight interceptions.
However, there are some questions marks that could be playing a part in the lack of interest in him, as he's coming off a season where he missed 10 games due to a performance-enhancing drug suspension. It marked the second time in his career that he was docked for that violation, with the first coming in the 2010 campaign.
If the Raiders are willing to look past his previous transgression, it could see the team bring aboard another veteran player to the mix.
