Schefter adds that the Raiders have an interest in signing the 26-year-old Hankins, who is still searching for a new team after his release from the Indianapolis Colts this offseason just one year into a three-year deal.
Hankins played and started 15 games for the Colts last season, recording 2.0 sacks with 44 tackles. Prior to that, he spent his first four years with the New York Giants. He made 52 appearances for the G-Men, making 10.0 sacks and 140 tackles.

Aside from Ellis, the Raiders also have veteran Frostee Rucker and rookies Maurice Hurst and P.J. Hall playing at defensive tackle.
The Raiders could use some added help in the pass rush following the departure of Khalil Mack. They struggled to put much pressure on quarterback Jared Goff against the Rams, which prompted Jon Gruden to say they will take a “good look” at that part of their game.
It remains to be seen whether Hankins will be part of the solution to that glaring problem. After having seven sacks in his breakout 2014 season, Hankins has had just five sacks over the last three years. But at the very least, he will provide the Raiders with another experienced defensive lineman in case Ellis is forced to miss some time.
