It may not be flashy, but the Oakland Raiders are rolling. After beating the Cincinnati Bengals 17-10 to go 6-4, Oakland, on a three-game win streak, is in the thick of the AFC playoff race. Head coach Jon Gruden feels pretty good about that.

After Sunday's win, Gruden said via Vic Tafur of The Athletic, “We compete hard. We find ways to win and our fans are superb.” After winning the game, he took his weekly trip to the Black Hole, where he feels at home. “Our fans are nuts,” said Gruden on the Black Hole fans. “They are the closest thing that I have seen to me.”

Like those fans in the Black Hole, Gruden's intensity cannot be matched. His fiery spirit reflects onto his Raiders team, who may not get pretty wins, but they get them nonetheless, often by grinding 60 minutes out. That's called Raiders football. Gruden and the Black Hole wouldn't have it any other way.

On Sunday, Gruden's Raiders got to rookie quarterback five times — including four sacks by rookie Maxx Crosby — and forced him to throw an interception. Offensively, the team did not pass all over the Bengals as many do. Instead, rookie tailback Josh Jacobs led the way, rushing for 112 yards on 23 attempts on the day.

The Raiders must be feeling good about their chances to get back into the playoffs. Luckily, next week, they will have one of their easier challenges, as they travel to New Jersey to take on the 3-7 New York Jets.
