Oakland Raiders running back Josh Jacobs has not practiced all week and is listed as questionable for his team's Week 8 matchup with the Houston Texans due to a shoulder injury, but head coach Jon Gruden expects him to play:

“He's a young player, obviously. He's got a shoulder,” said Gruden, according to Jerry McDonald of The Oakland Tribune. “We're listing him as questionable. We're expecting him to play but we'll have to see how it goes.”

Jacobs sustained the injury during the Raiders' loss to the Green Bay Packers last week.

The injury didn't stop the rookie from having a terrific performance, however, as he carried the ball 21 times for 124 yards while also logging three catches.

On the season overall, Jacobs has rushed for 554 yards and four touchdowns, averaging an impressive 5.1 yards per carry.

The 21-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Alabama, was selected by Oakland in the first round (24th pick overall) of the NFL Draft back in April.

The Raiders' decision to take Jacobs in the first round was viewed as a head-scratching one to many, as he didn't have an incredibly productive NCAA career.

However, Gruden and Co. have been proven right thus far, as Jacobs has put together back-to-back 100-yard performances, including a 123-yard, two-touchdown effort during a win over the Chicago Bears a couple of weeks ago. Jacobs has averaged at least 4.4 yards per carry in each of his last five outings.

Oakland has gotten off to a 3-3 start on the season.
