The multiple earthquakes that hit California last week saw places as far out as Las Vegas feeling the shake. Fortunately for them, however, no damage was felt, and according to reports, the Las Vegas football stadium also received no damage from the earthquakes.

In a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal via Pro Football Talk, the COO of the company that’s building the Raiders new stadium said that the earthquake resulted in no damages or injuries.

Don Webb – head of the Raiders’ subsidiary in charge of the building -said that the venue was “thoroughly inspected” and that an independent testing firm confirmed that all critical structural points of the stadium were fine.

When the building is complete, the stadium will be able to withstand seismic events, but according to Webb, the fact that the stadium is currently incomplete increased its risk of being damaged, and workers had to come down from the upper levels of the stadium and work on assembling roof trusses on the ground as a result of the quakes.

The earthquake on Friday – which was reported as a 7.1 magnitude – shook most of California, and was even bad enough to cancel some of the NBA Summer League games that were taking place in Las Vegas.

As for the new Raiders stadium, efforts to complete building it are still underway. The venue is currently planned to be finished in time for the start of the 2020 NFL season, where the Raiders will complete their move to Las Vegas and begin play there.
