The NFL's Oct. 29th trade deadline is near. One team expected to be buyers before and during then is the Oakland Raiders. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Raiders are searching for linebackers and pass rushers heading into the deadline.
There haven't been many whispers of available pass rushers, as they are a valuable commodity and teams are very rarely willing to trade them, especially during mid-season. While there has been speculation that the Denver Broncos could move Von Miller, don't expect them to do so, especially not to a division rival.
Vic Beasley of the Atlanta Falcons is reportedly available, and for a good reason. Since leading the NFL in sacks in 2016 (15.5), the former Clemson Tiger has totaled 11.5 in three seasons of play. In 2019, he has 1.5 sacks, five quarterback hits and two tackles for loss. He has a nearly $12.9 million cap hit on the fifth-year option and is a free agent after the season.
The Raiders selected a pass-rusher with the No. 4 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, specifically, Clelin Ferrell out of Clemson. The team also has fellow rookie Maxx Crosby, Arden Key, Benson Mayowa and Josh Mauro as their pass rushers. They run a 4-3 system.
As for linebackers, there haven't been many reportedly available. Of course, that can change, especially if the Raiders want to cough up a pretty penny to acquire a high-level one.
Currently, the Raiders have Tahir Whitehead, Justin Phillips, Dakota Allen, Nicholas Morrow and Kyle Wilbur.
Starter Vontaze Burfict is suspended for the rest of the 2019 season due to multiple helmet-to-helmet hit infringements over his career.
