Many, many football fans across the globe, not just those who reside in the Bay Area, would prefer if the Oakland Raiders stayed in their longtime home forever. It's safe to say that none of them, however, used that sentiment for personal financial gain. Well, except former NFL quarterback Rodney Peete.
According to TMZ Sports, Peete is being sued by fellow NFL retiree Carlos Rogers for failing to re-pay him after Peete convinced Rogers in 2016 to invest $350,000 in a group that was supposedly going to provide financing for updated football facilities in Oakland, allowing the Raiders to stay in the Bay Area rather than move to Las Vegas.

Rogers says he pressed Peete, but Rodney repeatedly stalled and came up with excuses — and he still hasn't been paid back.”
Rogers, a cornerback who finished his career with a single season playing for the Raiders in 2014, is reportedly suing Peete for the $350,000 he's owned in addition to $100,000 in damages.
The Raiders agreed in March to play one final season at Oakland Coliseum before commencing with their scheduled move to Las Vegas in 2020. The franchise's re-location was approved by owners on a 31-1 vote in 2017.
Peete, like Rogers, played one season of his lengthy NFL career with the Raiders, in 2001. He retired three years later, finishing his playing days with 16,338 passing yards, 76 touchdowns, and 92 interceptions.
