New head coach Jon Gruden has done everything within his power to put together a roster for the Oakland Raiders that he believes he can work with. Although the Raiders already had a talented young squad, Gruden wasn't satisfied and has made quite a few moves throughout this NFL offseason as a result.

One of those moves was adding a versatile weapon to the offense. The Raiders went out and traded for wide receiver Ryan Switzer formerly of the Dallas Cowboys and it appears Gruden has some plans on how he'll use the 23-year-old. It seems as though Gruden will be using him in many different situations, via Scott Bair of NBC Sports.

“Ryan Switzer has really caught my eye,” Gruden said, unprompted. “Switzer has come in here and not only been a punt returner, kick returner, he’s come in and been a force as a slot receiver. He’s really done well.”

Along with adding Switzer into the mixing for star quarterback Derek Carr in the passing game, the Raiders brass also traded for another wideout this offseason. The team made a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers for wide receiver Martavis Bryant who could become another solid target for Carr next season.

The only reliable target in the passing game that has remained in Oakland after the team overhaul is Amari Cooper and even he had issues last season with drops. Veteran Jordy Nelson is expected to be the go-to receiver for Carr while Cooper will likely be the next in line followed by Bryant and Switzer.

In his rookie campaign in Dallas, Switzer played in all 16 games finishing with only 41 yards on six receptions. The North Carolina product did, however, have 902 all-purpose yards with one touchdown coming off a punt return.
