Contract negotiations between the Oakland Raiders and defensive end Khalil Mack have seemingly come to a standstill. As a result, his future with the Raiders looks as unclear as ever.
Rumors have surfaced about Oakland fielding potential offers for Mack. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, his price tag involves two first-round picks, and so far the Raiders aren't in a hurry to get a deal done:
The Raiders have received a bunch of calls in recent days about trading Khalil Mack, but other teams have gotten the impression the price would be at least two first-round picks. No sense they‘re motivated to do a deal.
Oakland's asking price may seem a bit steep, but that has become commonplace in the bidding for the NFL's elite. This is what teams had reportedly been looking for when rumors surfaced about New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski being on the market. That said, Mack would be well worth the investment.

During that time, he has been selected to three Pro Bowls, two first-team All-Pro selections, and Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Although teams may be willing to part ways with such valuable assets in exchange for Mack, there is no indication that the Raiders are seriously considering it. Perhaps they could simply be gauging how high the bid can go.
There is no telling how Oakland plans to go about the Mack situation. With no end in sight for his holdout, it will be interesting to see if it actually carries over into the regular season.
