Oakland Raiders rookie running back Josh Jacobs is taking part in his first NFL training camp, and with plenty of expectations surrounding him heading into 2019, it's important that he heeds whatever advice the veterans give him.

As for the best advice he has gotten thus far?

“Push the reset button whenever you mess up. Play the next play,” said Jacobs, via Silver & Black Report.

So, basically, have a short memory.

Jacobs, who played his collegiate football at the University of Alabama, was selected by the Raiders in the first round (24th pick overall) of the NFL Draft back in April.

The 21-year-old actually remained unsigned through the first week-and-a-half of July before finally agreeing to a deal, clearing the way for him to participate in training camp.

Jacobs is coming off of a junior campaign in which he rushed for 640 yards and 11 touchdowns while averaging 5.3 yards per carry. In addition, he hauled in 20 receptions for 247 yards and three scores.

He arrived at Alabama back in 2016, and during his first collegiate season, he tallied 567 yards and four touchdowns on the ground, registering 6.7 yards per attempt. Then, during his sophomore year, Jacobs actually took a step back, finishing with 284 yards while reaching the end zone once.

While Oakland did select Jacobs in the first round, he will certainly have a lot of competition in the backfield, as the club also has Doug Martin, Jalen Richard, and DeAndre Washington competing for carries.

The Raiders won just four games this past season and have made the playoffs only once since last making the Super Bowl back in 2002-03.
