Melvin Gordon hasn't taken part in the Chargers' offseason program so far, but he did take the time Tuesday to shout out some of his teammates.
Gordon quote tweeted a few gkind words and emojis to a video of the Chargers’ running backs doing drills during Day 4 of organized team activities.

Naturally, the tweet led to questions about why Gordon wasn't with the “gang.” Of course, the Pro Bowl running back isn’t required to be at workouts until the three-day mandatory minicamp starts June 11. All offseason workouts before that are voluntary.
Gordon and defensive end Melvin Ingram are the last remaining players who haven’t checked in this offseason. Defensive end Joey Bosa joined the team last week for the start of OTAs.
“Both of those guys are key members of our football team,” Chargers coach Anthony Lynn said. “They have major roles and they’ll start when they get here, but I think that the guys that are here getting those reps in their place, I think those guys are benefiting big time.
“Those guys [Gordon and Ingram] are good players. Whether they’re here or not, I’m sure they’re going to show up and be productive.”
Gordon's absence has garnered extra attention because he is in the final year of his rookie contract. The longer he is away from the team, the more it begins to look like a potential contractual holdout.
