Tyrod Taylor could be the starting quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2020. The team announced that they would be letting Phillip Rivers walk, which has led many to wonder who will be the starter going forward.
Chargers coach Anthony Lynn dealt with Taylor back in Buffalo too and he's excited to give him a shot to compete for the starting job.

Williams. “We couldn’t have a better backup right now, and now he has an opportunity to maybe step up into a starting role. I’ve had Tyrod before [in Buffalo], and I know what this young man brings to the table, in the passing game and the running game.”
Taylor signed a two-year deal before the 2019 season to be Rivers backup, making only one appearance. When signing the deal who knows if he thought this would be even a chance, but this could be the perfect situation for him.
If the Chargers do turn the keys to the franchise over to Taylor, he does have all the keys around him to have success. The Chargers have a lot of playmakers on offense, and the defense is strong.
Taylor historically has done a good job of not turning the ball over, something Rivers had a lot of issues. If he has a big year in 2020, he should be in line for a big payday from the Chargers or another team looking for a quarterback.
