The Los Angeles Chargers have had a somewhat odd start to the season, but a good one by all accounts, nonetheless. After topping the Washington Football Team and falling to the Dallas Cowboys in close games in Weeks 1 and 2, respectively, they went into Arrowhead Stadium in Week 3 and upset the Kansas City Chiefs even in a game that saw them make several poor mistakes. Now it's time to make some Chargers predictions for Week 4

Justin Herbert was his excellent self in the contest, completing 26 of 38 passes for 281 yards with a pristine 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. The primary benefactor of LA's success through the air was Mike Williams, who continued his shot out of a cannon to start 2021, as he put up 7 catches for 122 yards and 2 touchdowns. Not bad.

In Week 4, the Chargers will take on the Las Vegas Raiders, who have started the year 3-0. Vegas has beat three solid, but unspectacular teams this year, and this contest in Los Angeles will be their biggest test yet. Who will come out on top? Here are 4 bold predictions for this Monday Night Football contest.

Chargers Week 4 Predictions

4. A return to dominance for Keenan Allen

Though Mike Williams has stolen the show through the air thus far, Keenan Allen has still been putting up WR1 numbers – he's put up either 100 yards or a touchdown in each game so far. He still hasn't had one of his truly dominant performances yet, however, which could change on Monday if the Raiders focus their attention on the uber-athletic Williams. Allen has been one of Herbert's favorite targets ever since the two joined forces, which could be huge for Allen's numbers this week.

3. Derwin James notches sack, interception

All-Pro safety James has had a somewhat quiet start to the year so far, with .5 sacks and no interceptions thus far. It could be that he's lost a step due to injury, but it's more likely that opposing quarterbacks and offenses have simply been trying to avoid him. However, Derek Carr loves to sling the rock around, which will give James the opportunity to get back to his ball-hawking ways. The Chargers will dial up some serious pressure, and James will make some big splash plays.

2. Justin Herbert throws for 400 yards

Though Herbert has had a solid start to the year, most of us expect even more out of his mercurial talent. This week, in a matchup between two high-powered offenses, he should get the chance to put up some video-game numbers, and let that big arm out for all 4 quarters. His matchup against Derek Carr could very well be a deciding factor in end-of-season awards, and, though that's unlikely, any potential fuel to add to Herbert could lead to an explosion of a performance from him.

1. Chargers spoil Raiders undefeated start

The Raiders are a very solid football team, but they simply have less talent than the Chargers. With Mike Williams, Keenan Allen, and Austin Ekeler to account for on offense, as well as splash defensive players like James and Joey Bosa, there's too much firepower here for LA to lose.
