Future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning took a subtle dig at the Los Angeles Chargers during a Zoom call with the Denver Nuggets.
One Nuggets player asked Manning about playing behind closed doors, to which Manning responded that player might have to ask someone with the Chargers (via Mike Singer of the Denver Post):
Another player asked Manning for suggestions on playing in an arena with no fans, as the Nuggets are set to do in Orlando.
“He was like, ‘I’m just not the one to answer that question,’” Plumlee recalled. “’You’d probably have to ask somebody with the Chargers or one of these other teams.’ …
“It was like talking to somebody in the locker room, which was really cool.”
The Chargers ranked dead-last in attendance last season, and it was not particularly close.

Manning has never been short of humor, though the Chargers figure to have plenty of company in terms of empty stadiums. It is likely most–if not all–NFL teams will have to play behind closed doors at least at the start of the year.
Then again, there are questions as to whether the 2020 NFL season will even take place.
Numerous NFL players took to Twitter on Sunday to suggest the league needs to do more in developing health and safety protocols. Things appear to be in somewhat dire straits with training camps scheduled to open in about a week.
