The Los Angeles Rams Week 16 game against the Minnesota Vikings sees both teams on short rest and with little room for an extra loss on their records. The Rams are coming off of a big win at home over the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday night and the Vikings just beat the Chicago Bears on Monday night. In this post, we're making our Rams Week 16 predictions.

Rams Week 16 Predictions
4. The Rams will hold the Vikings under their weekly rushing average
At 123.8 rushing yards per game in 2021, the Vikings are not only 23 yards ahead of the Rams in that category, but the number puts them as the tenth best rushing attack in the NFL. The only problem for the Vikings? The Rams are sixth in the NFL in stopping the run and that number is improving by the week. For the first time all season, the Rams are averaging more rushing yards per game (99.1) than they do rushing yards given up per game (99.0.) With the added emphasis on run-support, the Rams have given up just 13.3 points per game during their current three-game winning streak. In contrast, during the three-game losing streak that LA had, they gave up 18 points per game.

Donald only has two forced fumbles on the year and Miller has zero. What a perfect week to get on the right foot–or hand–however way you want to look at it. The main point is that both Donald and Miller should be ready to try and pry some balls loose on Sunday. The Vikings are just average at protecting the ball, with the 13th worst fumble rate in the NFL. They have eight fumbles on the year compared to just four lost fumbles for the Rams. As the year goes on, players get more and more tired and that kills your concentration. Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson is still a young receiver–no matter how good he is– so there will always be mistakes made by inexperience. Also, their other receiver Adam Thielen is coming off of an injury so there is reason to think that both could have fumbling issues in this one.
2. Kirk Cousins will be intercepted three times
Cousins has thrown four picks in his last four games after having just two through his team's first ten. The Vikings QB has been forced to test the defense a little bit more over the past month and it has made Cousins regress into his “happy-feet” QB play of old. The Rams are on fire as a secondary, and the fact that so many young guys got invaluable experience over the past two games as the Rams battled COVID-19 issues will only help. As for who will get the three gifts from Cousins? Let's go with one pick by each Jalen Ramsey, Darious Williams, and Donte Deayon. While none of these corners were able to get a pick off of Russell Wilson on Tuesday, they did combine for four pass deflections.
1. Matthew Stafford will throw at least four touchdown passes
Stafford has got to be pissed off about not being named to the 2021 Pro Bowl. Kyler Murray, Aaron Rodgers, and Tom Brady were chosen despite only Rodgers having the better team record and only Brady having the better stats. There is no reason that Stafford should have been snubbed for Murray. This week, he will take his frustrations out on the burnable Vikings secondary that is currently ranked 29th in the NFL with 252 passing yards per game given up. Minnesota makes up for a lack of coverage with their pass-rush that is averaging the most sacks per game in the NFL (3.1.) The way you want to attack teams like the Vikings that like to blitz and pin their ears back when they aren't–is you have to get the ball out of your quarterback's hands quickly. The Rams have killed teams lately with quick screens, be it to the wide receivers, running backs, or even to the tight ends. Look for head coach Sean McVay to exploit that all game.
