Throughout the last couple of months, Los Angeles Rams star defensive tackle Aaron Donald has been away from the team due to his desire to work out a new contract.

In that time, he has spent it keeping himself in shape through workouts and training camp on his own terms. In light of that, Donald recently posted an Instagram video of his physic that certainly showed that he was in great shape.

This is certainly an encouraging sign for the Rams to see that Donald has been remained strict on his diet and training to remain in great shape while he has been on his holdout. It is a testament to his work ethic that has helped him become arguably the best defensive player in the league over his first four seasons. He has been a dynamic force on the defensive line that has continued to create havoc for opposing offensive lines and quarterbacks on a weekly basis.

Donald is in the prime of his career with several highly productive campaigns ahead of him, which has made the effort to ink him to a new lucrative contract that much more pressing. The two sides have kept a constant dialogue, but that hasn't furthered into being any deal being finalized up to this point. The only thing that has been certain is that the Rams would like to make him the highest-paid defensive player in the league, which he would like to take a step further into making an annual salary more comparable to a quarterback.

With the start of the regular season quickly approaching, the Rams and Donald could hammer out a deal before then to get him back on the field as their primary anchor defensively. For the time being, the 27-year-old looks like he is ready to go physically.
