In 2018, Aaron Donald racked up 20.5 sacks, the most by an interior defensive lineman in NFL history. The Los Angeles Rams superstar faced double teams for much of the season. To start 2019, he's facing even more game-planning against him.

Through three weeks, Donald has one sack — recorded against the Cleveland Browns. He hopes to build on that on Sunday when his Rams host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“When plays present themselves, I can’t miss ’em. I got to make ’em,” Donald said, via Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times. “So it’s good to have one, but I’ve got to get myself going… I’m trying to produce a little bit more.”

The attention offenses divert to Donald, a two-time Defensive Player of the Year, isn't all negative for the Rams. His teammates are benefiting from offensive lineman focusing their efforts on blocking Donald alone. Clay Mathews has 4 sacks; Dante Fowler, 2 and Michael Brockers, 1.

“It’s [double teams] going to eventually open me back up,” Donald said. “As long as somebody’s making the plays, and making ’em pay for it, we’re going to be fine.”

While Donald doesn't yet boast world-beating box score stats in 2019, he continues to make an impact on offenses, no matter if he's getting to the quarterback or not. Offenses have shown an inability to do two things at once: stop Donald and his teammates. It's either one or the other, or, in some instances, none.

Donald's 3-0 Rams host the 1-2 Buccaneers on Sunday. Considering the hit-or-miss nature of the Tampa Bay offensive line, he may be in-store for a big game.
