The Los Angeles Rams will be without rookie running back Cam Akers in their Week 16 clash against division rivals Seattle Seahawks, according to Lindsey Thiry of ESPN:
Rams RB Cam Akers has a high ankle sprain, Sean McVay says, which will cause him to miss this next game, at least.

Cam Akers–who started the Rams’ first two and most recent two games at running back–has proven to be a steady and reliable presence in the team’s past two outings. That being said, the last contest the team played was against the hapless New York Jets, which managed to squeak past the Los Angeles team for their first win of the campaign.
Despite that, Akers had the best game of his young career in Week 14 against the New England Patriots. The 21-year-old rookie erupted for 171 yards on 29 carries, leading the Rams to a comfortable 24-3 victory.

It was his lowest number of attempts since he attempting only nine in Week 12 against the San Francisco 49ers.
The Rams' game against the Seahawks in Week 16 has major playoff seeding implications. Only two games separate three teams in the NFC West, with the Seahawks leading the pack at 10-4 and the Cardinals up the rear at 8-6. Sean McVay's team sits squarely in the middle at 9-5.
Obviously, a win would have both teams tied atop the division with only one week to go. Notably, the Rams already beat Seattle in Week 10 by a 23-16 score line.
