Things got pretty heated between Rams corner Marcus Peters and Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper as the two got into a scuffle at the end of their playoff matchup on Saturday. Peters and the Rams eventually came away on top, and he let the other side know it.

Peters was overheard shouting some taunting words at the direction of the Cowboys on the way to the locker room. And postgame, he clarified that those were meant specifically for Cooper.

“That was for Amari Cooper,” Peters said per Robert Klemko of SI. “He got strapped today. He said he knew us. Looks like he don’t know us too well cuz y’all just lost.”

Peters was clearly referring to Cooper’s pregame comments saying he knew both Peters and fellow Rams Aqib Talib “in and out” based on their previous matchups in the AFC West. Obviously, Peters didn’t take too kindly to those words from Cooper, who ended up with six catches for 65 yards and a touchdown.

It shouldn’t be much of a surprise that Peters took offense to Cooper’s comments. Peters is one fiery personality and takes those types of slights personally.

In the end, he and the rest of the Rams defense did their part to silence the Cowboys offense. They were especially impressive in limiting the vaunted Cowboys running game to just 50 yards.

After proving their point to Cooper and the Cowboys, Peters and the Rams will need to bring more of the same defensive intensity if they’re to make it all the way to the Super Bowl.
