The New England Patriots currently lead the Los Angeles Rams by a dismal score of 3-0 at halftime of Super Bowl LIII. With the Patriots' lone field goal serving as the only points scored thus far into the forgettable contest, both teams have continued to struggle mightily on offense with Rams quarterback Jared Goff not serving as any exception.

Goff has had an especially rough time on third down against the Patriots while starting the game 0-for-4 with three incompletions and one sack on third down.

However, Goff and the entire Rams offense have struggled equally. While starting running back Todd Gurley has been a non-factor through the first two quarters of play, the Rams offense as a whole has done close to nothing against a stout New England defense.

It just keeps getting worse for both teams…

The highlight of the first half was no doubt Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, however. Edelman made some history while serving as Tom Brady's most targeted receiver — Edelman has seven catches on eight targets thus far.

Goff has had a resurgence under the direction of Rams head coach Sean McVay while the up-and-coming signal caller's rookie season was concerning — to say the least. Despite his two seasons of tremendous success, Goff finished the first half of Super Bowl 53 with just five completions. Goff has gone just 5-of-12 for 52 yards through the first two quarters.

The Rams will receive the second half kickoff, though, which could bode well for Los Angeles going forward.
