When it comes to the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday night at the 2017 NFL Honors, they have simply stolen the show. Rams head coach Sean McVay, who just turned 32 late last month, was officially named the 2017 AP NFL Head Coach of the Year on the eve of Super Bowl Sunday.
The NFL's official Twitter account immediately posted a graphic congratulating coach McVay, who is the youngest head coach in NFL history.

The Rams, who finished the 2016-17 season with a dismal 4-12 record despite a 3-1 start, were completely turned around by coach McVay this season. Not only did they win the NFC West division race with an 11-5 record, McVay was able to take second-year Rams starting quarterback Jared Goff under his wing and develop him into a rising star.
Article Continues BelowLos Angeles starting All-Pro left tackle Andrew Whitworth, who was named to his fourth career Pro Bowl appearance this season at 36 years-old, was immediately aware that coach McVay had something special in the works. Whitworth opened up to NFL.com's Mike Silver earlier this year about his young head coach.
“Anybody that spends five minutes with Sean McVay comes away from it and goes, ‘Man, that kid's not 31,'” Whitworth said earlier this season. “It's kind of the same as when you're around a truly great player, a future Hall of Famer. You hear people talk about Jonathan Ogden or Anthony Muñoz or Deion Sanders, and they say, ‘You knew from the beginning this guy was gonna be special. You could just tell he's different.' That's how it is with Sean.”
Rams star running back Todd Gurley took home the AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year award, while star defensive tackle Aaron Donald was recognized as the AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
