The Los Angeles Rams have discussed adding former Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury as a possible offensive assistant.

Kingsbury was recently fired by the Red Raiders following the team's third straight losing season. But according to FOX Sports' Peter Schrager, NFL interest is already growing when it comes to possibly adding the offensive-minded Kingsbury.

And it makes sense that the interest would start with a high-powered offensive team like the Rams.

From Schrager:

As I just said on FOX, there’s significant NFL interest in former Texas Tech HC Kliff Kingsbury. Rams HC Sean McVay reached out to Kingsbury last week and discussed having Kingsbury come aboard for this stretch run in an offensive assistant/consultant role.

Kingsbury was previously connected to a possible offensive coordinator position at USC, but no deal has been finalized at this point.

He would certainly be a great fit in the new-look NFL, where many offensive schemes from the college game are being implemented throughout the league.

His teams at Texas Tech rarely had problems scoring throughout the years, as the defense was the main issue when it came to trying to find victories in the tough Big 12 conference.

With the Rams already boasting an insanely good offense that features talented quarterback Jared Goff, stud running back Todd Gurley, and a host of playmaking wide receivers, adding Kingsbury would give NFL defensive coordinators headaches for many years to come.

The Rams return to the field on Sunday as they take on the Detroit Lions.
