The Miami Dolphins made quite the investment under center this offseason. It appears head coach Brian Flores is happy with how things have turned out thus far.

The Dolphins have been open about their quarterback competition between Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh Rosen. According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, Flores is pleased with the ongoing duel:

“I like some of the things Ryan did,” Flores said. “I like some of the things Josh did. This is a good quarterback competition.”

Although the Dolphins are from a declaring a clear-cut starter, Fitzpatrick is currently the one taking reps with the first team. Regardless, that does not mean that things are not subject to change in the near future.

Miami made a splash with the acquisition of Rosen from the Arizona Cardinals. The former 10th overall pick had essentially been replaced after one dismal season with the lackluster Cardinals. While he may have struggled to find his footing in Arizona, Miami still has high hopes for his future as a franchise quarterback.

Of course, they made it clear that they are in no rush to throw Rosen in right away, which is why they brought in Fitzpatrick. The veteran has long served as one of the more valuable backups in the league and proved that he still had a little gas left in the tank with his stellar start to the 2018 campaign during his final season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

While Fitzpatrick may be holding the edge over Rosen, Flores is clearly enamored with how the battle is shaking out.
