There has been some speculation regarding Miami Dolphins wide receiver DeVante Parker's status for the 2018 NFL season. Unfortunately, the recent update is not so encouraging.
Parker has been nursing a broken finger for nearly a month now. However, according to Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald, he could potentially be forced to miss the first two games of the season:
Parker's current status deals a blow to an already thin receiving corps. this group took a tremendous hit with the departure of wide receiver Jarvis Landry. Although there is some optimism with the return of quarterback Ryan Tannehill, the lack of a safety net for him has raised some concern.
Parker has not panned out as the Dolphins may have liked when they selected him with the 14th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. they have seen little return out of their heavy investment after he registered just 57 receptions for 670 yards and a touchdown.
Although it was a step back from his solid sophomore campaign, however, Miami will have no choice but to rely on him this upcoming season. With Parker out for potentially the first two games, wide receivers Kenny Stills and Danny Amendola will head the inexperienced group.
