It has brought aboard a proven asset in the running game that could become a huge contributor in the running game next season. According to Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald, Gore's worth ethic has already impressed fellow running back Kenyan Drake.
Gore has been one of the league's most productive running backs throughout his NFL career where he has topped 1,000 rushing yards nine times in his career and is coming off another respectable year notching 961 rushing yards last season with the Indianapolis. This has pushed him to fifth all-time in that category with the chance to pass up Hall of Famer Curtis Martin in the 2018 campaign to move up to fourth as he trails by less than 100 yards.
The 35-year-old clearly still has plenty left in the tank heading into his 14th year, and his continued work ethic has already rubbed off on his new teammate, who he plans to mentor on and off the field this upcoming season. Drake displayed plenty of potential in the second half of the 2017 season where he recorded 444 of his career-high 644 rushing yards in the final five games of the regular seasons, including a pair of 100-yard performances.
The quick connection between Drake and Gore could lead to the Dolphins possessing one of the league's more formidable running game that could help lead the Dolphins to success this upcoming season.
