The Miami Dolphins are still without a starting quarterback. Free agent signal-caller Teddy Bridgewater met with Brian Flores' team on Wednesday evening and left without a contract agreement in place, per ESPN's Cameron Wolfe, though there indeed remains a possibility the former first-round pick will ultimately sign with Miami.

Bridgewater likely will have to decide between staying in New Orleans as a backup and potentially a long-term option to replace Drew Brees when Brees retires or leaving for Miami, where he would have an opportunity to start in 2019.
The New Orleans Saints freed up an additional $10 million of cap space on Thursday after re-structuring the existing contract of franchise icon Drew Brees. One of the team's supposed reasons for doing so was increasing their chances of re-signing Bridgewater as Brees' understudy, a prospect he's reportedly amenable to given his fondness for the organization and potential opportunity to supplant Brees as the Saints' starter whenever Brees retires.
ESPN's Dianna Russini, meanwhile, reports that Miami's current offer to Bridgewater is bigger than New Orleans'. If the Dolphins only slightly increase their bid, Bridgewater could prove too pricey for the Saints to retain.
The Dolphins are still expected to part ways with incumbent starter Ryan Tannehill this offseason, though there's no timetable for that development to take place. It's also no secret that Miami, picking 13th in the upcoming NFL draft, is interested in drafting a quarterback.
