The Miami Dolphins haven't signed many veterans this offseason as they go through a rebuild but that could change with the team having talks with linebacker Nick Perry according to Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald. The former first-round pick was cut by the Packers in March after just two years of his five-year deal.

He was strong in year one with the Packers but a knee injury in year two wrecked any chance of a successful season and the team decided to move on from him.

“We want to thank Nick for his contributions to the Green Bay Packers and the community over the last seven seasons,” Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said at the time of Perry’s release. “He did a tremendous job on the field, was a great teammate and a true professional. We wish Nick, his wife, Audrianna, and their family all the best.”

It appears now that Perry is healthy though, the first time in a long time and with it being after the draft the Dolphins could probably get him for a cheap price.

The Dolphins haven't spent much this offseason but the team needs a linebacker. They lost Cameron Wake and Robert Quinn from last year and need someone who can create pressure from the edge of the line and the linebacker position.

It's unclear how much interest the team actually has in signing Perry but if the price is right it seems likely that the team might take a one year flyer on a guy who could end up being a steal if he is healthy.
