The New England Patriots are still looking to fortify their wide receiver corps, and with that in mind, Cameron Meredith is making another visit to the team in an effort to make it.
I'm told that free agent WR Cameron Meredith is in the New England area now, again, vying to become the #Patriots newest wide receiver. Meredith visited the team a couple days ago.

Meredith already visited the Patriots once before this week, but will now reportedly once again be taking a visit with the team. Meredith was released by the New Orleans Saints earlier this week, ending his time with the team with just nine passes for 114 yards, and one touchdown caught in his one season there. Meredith is likely hoping that a team like the Patriots could use a more veteran option at wide receiver, and given his successful history in Chicago with the Bears, it couldn't hurt.
Article Continues BelowMeredith was initially signed by the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2015 and had a fairly decent career there. His 2016 season, in particular, Meredith truly shined with the Bears, catching 66 passes for 888 yards and four touchdowns. After tearing his ACL in 2017, Meredith then signed with the Saints in 2018, but couldn’t catch on with the explosive offense already in place.
After losing Rob Gronkowski to retirement, and with Josh Gordon still suspended, the Patriots are hoping Meredith might be a solid veteran answer for them. The team currently has Julian Edelman and Demaryius Thomas, but both are nursing injuries, and the team has been working out other options in the meantime. Should Meredith sign with the Patriots, he could make for an intriguing option for the Patriots if he sticks around.
