There are a number of intriguing elements to this year's showdown between the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII. One of the underrated aspects of this game is that it will feature perhaps two of the best tight ends in the game in Rob Gronkowski and Zach Ertz.

Although Ertz enjoyed the best season of his five-year career, he is still well-aware of Gronkowski's status as the premier tight end in the league. He even suggested Gronk would put up monster numbers no matter what team he is on, according to Tyler Dunne of Bleacher Report:

“The guy is a physical specimen. He's a freak. … He'd still be producing those numbers with or without Tom Brady. He uses his body whenever he wants to get open.”

There is no denying that Rob Gronkowski is arguably one of the best receivers in the game, regardless of position. When healthy, his rare combination of size and speed make him virtually unguardable in a one-on-one matchup.

That said, there has still been plenty of speculation as to how essential he actually is to the Patriots' success. Gronkowski was knocked out of the game after sustaining an illegal hit from Jacksonville Jaguars safety Barry Church in the first half of the AFC Championship Game. Nevertheless, New England's offense managed to outscore the Jaguars 14-6 in the second half to clinch their second straight Super Bowl appearance.

Needless to say, Zach Ertz clearly dispels any notion of the Patriots actually being a better offense without Gronkowski. Although he is still recovering from a concussion, Gronk is expected to play come game time.
