It's been almost a year since New England Patriots tackle Isaiah Wynn suffered an Achilles injury that ended his rookie year before it could even get started. The talk this offseason has been that Wynn could be ready for the start of the season and Monday's milestone shows he could be on track for that.
On Monday, Wynn did competitive work in practice for the first time since the Achilles injury. He did 1-on-1 and 2-0n-2 work and also split reps during the 11-on-11 portion of practice.
Wynn tried to downplay how important it was to get back into practice, but finally admitted that it was a big day for him.

Wynn has been in full pads most of the practices so far in training camp, but until Monday he would sit on the sideline during 11-on-11 drills.
The Patriots are holding joint practices with the Titans this week, and it would seem that Wynn should be on the field for those, even if it's in a limited role.
Wynn said it just feels good to be back out with the guys, and going against another team should be the next step in the comeback process.
“Of course I’m excited,” Wynn said after practice, “just being out here and getting to do a little bit more.”
