Julian Edelman and the New England Patriots have had a rough offseason with Tom Brady departing in free agency. However, the veteran wideout received some positive news on Wednesday. After having charges of vandalism made against him earlier this offseason, Edelman has now had those charges dropped.

A few months ago, Edelman was enjoying his time with a few friends, walking around Beverly Hills before the Patriots wide receiver decided to jump on top of a car.

Then, after the authorities were notified, Edelman was arrested and was cited for vandalism on a vehicle. Nevertheless, he was released back to his friends after the police questioned him about the situation.

Prior to making the poor decision to get on the car, the police revealed that Edelman was under the influence of alcohol. As a matter of fact, it was assumed that Paul Pierce and Danny Amendola were present with Edelman, per Pierce's Instagram.

The arrest of Edelman came nearly a week after the Patriots were eliminated in the AFC Wild Card Game. Provided that, Edelman would've never had the chance to make a questionable choice had New England advanced in the postseason.

Luckily for Edelman, he'll avoid any charges that stem from the night he was cited for vandalism. The person that had their car damaged from Edelman is the one that told police he didn't want the pass-catcher to be charged for any crimes.

In all likelihood, Edelman probably paid compensated the car owner for the damages—and then some. At the least, with the coronavirus pandemic going on, Julian Edelman can't repeat his mistake this offseason.
