The New England Patriots are back in the Johnny Football business.

Rumored as one of the organization's who's been interested in the former Heisman Trophy winner, Bill Belichick's football dynasty is back at it as according to Kevin Guregian of the Boston Herald, the Pats met with free agent Johnny Manziel both before and after his work at Texas A&M's Pro Day on Tuesday.

Manziel's short, tenuis NFL career has been well-documented.

Drafted No. 22 in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns, his on-field success never once came close to touching his off-field troubles. Rather than touchdowns to Josh Gordon, he was known more for his partying, showcased on Instagram.

He's simply taken his big man on campus days and extended it to the NFL in porous fashion.

In two shorts seasons and just 15 big league appearances, Manziel compiled 1,675 passing yards, seven touchdowns and seven interceptions on a poor 57 percent completion percentage. Over the last two seasons, places like TMZ have enjoyed field days with the kid while he's been shut out from NFL competition.

Nowadays, he's looking to do anything and everything he can in pursuit of a real comeback. He's even made mention that he'll play int he CFL if none of the 32 NFL organizations bite prior to training camp this coming July.

Could New England be a realistic landing spot for Johnny Manziel? Absolutely. He'd just have to make sure this second chance at NFL glory is for real instead of a phony mirage.
