The New England Patriots saw one of their most beloved players in franchise history in Rob Gronkowski retire this offseason. Since then, people have said they believe that Gronkowski will make a comeback at some point.

Recently, the Patriots greatest tight end in franchise history participated in a charity event in New England. After the event, the media asked him about a potential comeback anytime soon.

“Oh man . . . whatever I say, it doesn’t matter,” he answered. “It will always be crazy out there. You (the Herald) can put them to rest.”

The Herald threw it back at Gronk, and once again asked if he would put them to rest.

“I just did . . . yes (I’ll put them to rest),” he said playfully. “I’m feeling good, I’m in a good place. It’s great to be back (at Gillette), though.”

Gronkowski seems joyful in his retirement and doesn't seem enamored by the idea of coming back. Although, his mind could change at any point of the season.

All it would take is one call from his friend Tom Brady and Gronkowski could be catching touchdowns again in Gillette Stadium. Nonetheless, it's tough to envision Gronkowski already stepping back on the field after retiring not too long ago.

Nonetheless, in his nine seasons in the NFL, Gronkowski became one of the best tight ends in NFL history. His 79 touchdowns are remarkable when you realize that Antonio Brown had 74 in the same time span (2010-2018).

Whether Gronkowski decides to return or not, he will be sporting a gold jacket in Canton someday.
