The New England Patriots will be without two key offensive pieces when they take the field in a marquee matchup with the Green Bay Packers Sunday night. In a released inactive list by the Patriots via the team’s official Twitter account, the names of tight end Rob Gronkowski and running back Sony Michel are among those declared out for the contest.

Rob Gronkowski and Sony Michel have been deemed questionable to play against the Packers all week long, but got ultimately ruled out, as New England obviously does not want to risk further aggravation of the two players’ respective injuries.
Gronkowski is dealing with back and ankle issues for most of the season, but was able to play in last week’s demolition job of a win against the Buffalo Bills on the road. Michel, on the other hand, sustained a knee injury that was initially feared as a season-ending type during Week 7’s win at Soldier Field against the Chicago Bears. The rookie tailback missed the Bills game a week after, but was not placed on the injured reserve, thus offering hope that Michel will return to action sooner than later.
Apart from Gronkowski, the Pats will also miss the services of another tight end in Jake Hollister, meaning Dwayne Allen is set to be featured a lot against Green Bay. As for Michel, his absence will likely mean an increased workload for both James White and Cordarrelle Patterson.
