Sony Michel has been a pleasant surprise for the New England Patriots in his rookie season. Not only has he been able to carve out a role for himself, he has actually been proving that he can be a long-term starter for the team. Unfortunately, Michel suffered a knee injury last week against the Chicago Bears.
Thankfully, the injury was not as serious as it looked like it could have been. In fact, according to a report from Jim McBride of the Boston Globe, Michel has returned to practice.

Throughout his first six career games with the Patriots, Michel has carried the football 95 times for 422 yards and four touchdowns. He has also caught four passes for 31 yards.
Michel has taken over the majority of the carries, although James White is still the third-down back.
Tom Brady even opened up about the impact that Michel has made on the field early on this season in an interview shared by Tyler Sullivan of 247 Sports.
“Sony has really been coming into his own providing some really explosive runs for us. To see him go out and get twisted up like he did [Sunday] in the second quarter, I think everyone was holding their breath. Just happy it is not as serious as it could have been. Hopefully we get him back at some point soon.”
It is unclear at this point in time whether Michel will miss Monday night's game against the Bills. More than likely, a week off could be ideal, but he is working hard to get back on the field.
