This offseason is a major turning point for the New Orleans Saints. Sean Payton is gone and the franchise is still searching for a quarterback to replace Drew Brees. On top of that, there are multiple holes on the roster that need to be addressed. We dive into the Saints' 2022 NFL Draft with some of our bold predictions.

Defensively, New Orleans is one of the best in the league. For that reason, we should see the Saints focus on the offense throughout most of the NFL Draft. The offensive line could use some youth and depth, which is feasible in this class. Furthermore, the wide receiver room is a mess outside of Michael Thomas, so we should expect this team to take a receiver early.

Nobody is sure if Jameis Winston can be the long-term answer at quarterback for New Orleans or not. After making a big trade with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Saints are in a position to make some noise in the first round. Perhaps they move up to draft a quarterback the coaching staff has fallen in love with, or maybe they load up in other areas?

With that said, here are three bold Saints predictions for the 2022 NFL Draft.

Saints Predictions for the 2022 NFL Draft

3. The front office brings in a plethora of youth for the offensive line

It's not like New Orleans has a terrible offensive line, it's just that it's time for this franchise to bring in new faces. The trenches are not a dire need for the Saints to address, but it will be in a year or two if it is completely ignored. For that reason, the front office should prioritize adding one or two prospects upfront.

Luckily for this team, there are plenty of talented offensive linemen available this year. We'll see how it plays out, but we could see the Saints acquire one or two linemen in the second and third rounds of the NFL Draft. Look for New Orleans to reel in a couple of developmental pieces to keep the trenches strong.

2. Saints take two exciting wide receiver prospects in the draft

They very well could double-dip at wide receiver in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. It's more realistic they take one, but either way, New Orleans has a ton of draft capital to fix the poor receiving core on the roster. We could see the Saints take an exciting prospect in the first two rounds this year.

A few names to keep an eye on are Jameson Williams, Garrett Wilson, and Drake London in the first round. Some others that could be available in round two are George Pickens, Skyy Moore, or Jahan Dotson. If the Saints can bring in two of these players onto the roster the passing game should vastly improve.

1. New Orleans trades up to select a rookie quarterback

Although nearly everyone is excited to see Jameis Winston back under center the Saints might be searching for a rookie prospect. There's a reason why the front office made a trade to acquire a second first-round selection in the NFL Draft. The front office has the pieces necessary to move up if necessary, especially if New Orleans is in love with a certain quarterback prospect.

Who that prospect is, nobody is certain. Malik Willis, Kenny Pickett, Desmond Ridder, Matt Corral, and Sam Howell have all received plenty of buzz during the draft process. However, it's unclear who is the top prospect. Regardless, the Saints have the draft capital to move up to take one of these quarterbacks and still address their other needs on the roster. Look for this franchise to potentially make a splash pick early in the first round.
