The New Orleans Saints came back from a 10-point deficit in the second half of their NFC Wild Card Game against the Minnesota Vikings to send the matchup into overtime. The OT period was created by a clutch 49-yard fourth-quarter field goal from veteran placekicker Wil Lutz (via NFL).

Lutz, a 25-year-old kicker in his fourth NFL season, all with the Saints, was accurate on field goals 88.9 percent of the time during the 2019 regular season. Additionally, he was 15/18 from 40-49 feet in the regular season, but when push came to shove the kicker knocked through a game-tying long distance field to give extra time for New Orleans to continue their comeback against the “Minneapolis Miracle” Vikings, who bounced them two years ago in the postseason.
The field goal capped off a Saints drive that started on their own 30-yard line, progressing to Vikings territory with timely finds by star quarterback Drew Brees to his wide receivers corps, including tight end Jared Cook, Michael Thomas, and dual-threat running back Alvin Kamara.
The Saints could exact revenge by beating the Vikings in overtime.
