The New York Giants have revamped their offense this offseason. Adding Malik Nabers and Devin Singletary could help the Giants have a more consistent attack in 2024. Tuesday was the first time that the team got to see Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton practicing with each other.

Darius Slayton was back at practice after he'd been away because he wants a revised contract or completely new deal with the team. Slayton is seeking a raise over his $2.5 million base salary plus a $2.6 million roster bonus. He signed a two-year, $12 million contract in March 2023.

Earlier this month, Slayton spoke at a charity event and told reporters that he was hopeful for “a resolution here soon” as his agent and general manager Joe Schoen continued negotiations.

Slayton is well within his rights to want a new deal. The Giants forced him to take a pay cut before the 2022 season and he has responded with two of his best seasons, re-establishing his chemistry with quarterback Daniel Jones. Slayton has led the Giants in receiving yards in four of his first five seasons, so it's reasonable to expect some recognition for that production.

Darius Slayton is projected to be the second wide receiver on the depth chart in 2024, behind rookie Malik Nabers. Wan'Dale Robinson and Jalin Hyatt should be wide receivers three and four respectively.

The Giants drafted Slayton in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. In 2023, Slayton logged 50 catches for 770 receiving yards and four TDs.

Giants first team featured on new Hard Knocks show

Earlier this month, the New York Giants were announced as the inaugural team on a new Hard Knocks program.

The new show, titled Hard Knocks: Offseason with the New York Giants, will cover the 2024 offseason for New York. We suspect that the program will prominently feature the NFL free agency period, the pre-draft process, and the 2024 NFL Draft itself.

One possible storyline could be the acquisition of superstar pass rusher Brian Burns via trade from the Carolina Panthers. It would be fascinating to get an inside look into how NFL teams negotiate trades with one another, or how they discuss contract negotiations with a player who is new to the team.

The Giants are preparing for their 100th season in the NFL, so it is nice to see the league give them a special tribute. The five-part series will premiere on HBO on July 2nd at 9PM ET.

Previewing the 2024 schedule for the New York Giants

The New York Giants face a tough schedule in 2024. They play in a competitive division and drew arguably the best division in football in the AFC North to play round robin.

NFL schedule makers were kind to the Giants in their 100th season. The league gave them a healthy slate of primetime games and a handful of other nationally-televised games.

  • Week 4 – Thursday Night Football – vs Dallas Cowboys
  • Week 6 – Sunday Night Football – vs Cincinnati Bengals
  • Week 8 – Monday Night Football – at Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Week 10 – Germany – at Carolina Panthers
  • Week 13 – Thanksgiving – at Dallas Cowboys

New York gets a Week 11 bye after their trip to Munich.

The Giants face an uphill battle to make the playoffs in 2024, but they have a shot thanks to adding firepower on both sides of the football.
