The New York Giants are coming off a forgettable season which was marred by injuries, a quarterback controversy, and a coaching change. Although a lot of things factored into the team's disappointing 2017 NFL campaign, Odell Beckham Jr. missing all but four games was a major reason for their struggles offensively.
As arguably one of the best wide receivers in the NFL today, Beckham completely changes the game when he's on the football field. Unfortunately for New York, Beckham couldn't stay healthy in 2017 and ultimately was ruled out for the season early on due to a fractured left ankle, but it appears he'll be ready for the start of next season, via ESPN's Jordan Raanan.
Beckham is in Los Angeles working out with his trainer Jamal Liggin again this offseason. He recently told reporters he’s doing well and fully expects to be ready for the start of the season. His concentration is on Week 1, not OTAs or the offseason program.
Before going down with the fractured ankle that derailed his fourth season in the NFL, Beckham was one of the most consistent and dominant forces in the league at his position. The 25-year-old wideout had three straight seasons with 1,305 or more receiving yards while also recording double-digit touchdowns in each of his first three seasons.
Obviously, Beckham's production and presence on the football field was sorely missed by the Giants as they went on to win only three games during the 2017 campaign. Now New York is focused on the upcoming 2018 NFL Draft as they possess the No. 2 overall pick and could be looking to bring in Eli Manning's successor under center which could ultimately be good news for the team's star attraction.
