New York Giants general manager Dave Gettleman recently said that the Giants would look at potential trade options as far as their No. 4 overall pick is concerned.
Now, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN is reporting that teams are expecting New York to be “really active” in trying to move down from No. 4.
Expectation from teams in the top-10 is that the #Giants will be really active with the No. 4 pick, per @JFowlerESPN. As for the #Lions at No. 3, the sense is they haven't been floored by any of the offers so far. Obviously, that could change.

This does not come as much of a surprise.
The only other pick the Giants have in the top 95 is their second-rounder, which falls 36th overall. So, it would make sense for New York to try to add more picks.
Plus, the general consensus is that the Giants will end up taking an offensive tackle with their first selection, and given that there are numerous top tackle prospects that should be available in the top 10, New York could trade down and still get a good tackle while accumulating more assets in the process.
Louisville's Mekhi Becton, Iowa's Tristan Wirfs, Georgia's Andrew Thomas and Alabama's Jedrick Wills are considered by most to be the best tackles in this draft class. At least one of them should be on the board if the Giants decide to move down.
New York could also consider Clemson linebacker Isaiah Simmons to help shore up its problematic defense.
While the Giants certainly have significant talent at the skill positions, they are definitely lacking in other areas, which is why they went just 4-12 this past season.
By that logic, it's completely understandable for Gettleman and Co. to want to trade down to try and bring in as much talent as possible heading into 2020.
