The Washington Football Team made some strides last season and fell to the eventual Super Bowl winners. With the moves the team made this offseason, Washington is headed in the right direction.  The front office franchise-tagged All-Pro Guard Brandon Scherff, and signed multi-year deals with wide receiver Curtis Samuel and cornerback William Jackson III.  Washington's roster still has several holes, but below are three options for Washington in the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft.

1. Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech

Next season, Ryan Fitzpatrick or Fitzmagic, depending on what version shows up will be playing under center. The journeyman is on a one-year deal and Washington has yet to find its franchise quarterback moving forward.

In the meantime, Washington can round out the team and make life easier for its future signal-caller. The defense is already elite, so there should be fewer shootouts when he arrives, reducing the pressure and expectations placed on him.

Terry McLaurin and Samuel form a scary receiving duo and will be reliable targets. While the offensive line exceeded expectations last season, there is a need for a high-level, left tackle prospect. Hopefully, Washington can select their next Trent Williams in this draft.

All the attention is on Oregon's Penei Sewell, but Darrisaw should not just be considered a consolation prize. He has good size at 6'5, 314 pounds and is a great athlete, who plays with much power. Darrisaw is very mobile and regularly bulldozes defenders at the next level. Linebackers and safeties should be wary of him.

He could use some refinement in his technique, but projects to be an effective and reliable pass protector.

2. Samuel Cosmi, OT, Texas

There is a noticeable drop-off between Darrisaw and Cosmi. If Darrisaw is gone by the time Washington picks, the team should consider trading down a few spots.

Cosmi has less ceiling than Darrisaw, but he does have a higher floor. Cosmi has long arms and makes excellent use of them in pass protection. He has an ideal size at 6'7 and 309 pounds and displays much strength in his game. Cosmi is a polished prospect and should make an impact from day one

Unlike Darrisaw, Cosmi will likely not be a force in the run game, but he does still have room to grow.

3. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame

The jewel of Washington is its defensive line. Chase Young, Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne, and Montez Sweat are names that strike fear into the hearts of quarterbacks and offensive coordinators.

What the defense could use is a shot of speed and athleticism in the linebacker corps.

This is what Owusu-Koramoah brings to the table and more. You can look at the prospect through either a glass-half-full or half-empty lens. At 6'1, 215 pounds, he has the size of a defensive back and he could get lost in the position shuffle of being too small to be a linebacker, but not fast enough to be a safety. However, he can also be classified as a hybrid defender, who can help bring an elite defense to an even higher level.

He is excellent in coverage and has the versatility to be deployed as a slot cornerback. Owusu-Koramoah can stick to tight ends and blow up plays.

His downside is that he will probably be a liability in the run game, but this could be negated by their front four.
