The Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to use their number one overall pick on Trevor Lawrence in the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft on April 29. However, don't expect the former Clemson University standout to be in the vicinity in Cleveland, Ohio when NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell calls his name.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter on Sunday, Lawrence has refused the NFL's invite to be in Ohio as he opted to watch it virtually with some friends and family members at Clemson instead.

The NFL, meanwhile, will return to the more traditional draft selection process following last year's virtual iteration due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it seems that the 21-year-old quarterback is keen on his decision to not be present on perhaps the biggest day of his life so far.

While there are several high-profile quarterbacks in this year's NFL draft, no doubt Lawrence is truly the cream of the crop. He will likely be off the board by the time potential first-rounders BYU's Zach Wilson, Ohio State's Justin Fields and North Dakota State's Trey Lance get picked.

Trevor Lawrence has been the consensus top pick following his stellar three-year run with the Tigers' football program. The three-time ACC Champion recorded 90 passing touchdowns and just 17 interceptions in 40 career starts, as well as 18 scores on the ground.

The Jaguars definitely hit the jackpot on this one, considering this will be their first top pick in franchise history. Still, it's quite unusual for a celebrated top pick (from any sport) to skip the draft.

But regardless if he'll be in Ohio or not, the future is bright for Trevor Lawrence.
